It is nearly time for John Cabot University’s Fall 2013 Career Fair! It will take place in the Aula Magna Regina at the Guarini Campus on Friday, November 8th, 2013, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
This anticipated event serves as a valuable opportunity for students and alumni to begin exploring possibilities for their future careers while practicing their interviewing skills. This fall, representatives from about fifteen respected businesses and organizations, including GEG Management, On-Screen Communications, U.N.I.D.O., Brandportal, and I.D.LO., will come to our university in Rome to give presentations about their companies and meet or interview with interested students.
It is never too early to begin thinking about career prospects and this event is a central focus of John Cabot’s Career Services. During the week of Career Fair, various seminars are presented to better prepare participating students and alumni for the many opportunities available. Seminars are actually ongoing throughout the entire semester, covering important career information such as writing resumes and cover letters, interviewing and presentation techniques, mastering the elevator pitch, dressing for the workplace, internships at John Cabot and entrepreneurship fundamentals. If you plan on attending a seminar, fill out the Seminar RSVP form and send it to [email protected] at least 48 hours before the desired event.

The Career Services team is dedicated to helping students and alumni prepare for rewarding positions in the workforce. It collaborates with over 200 companies and organizations throughout the year, identifying internship/job opportunities and providing guidance for students interested in graduate school. This assistance may involve pairing students up with a mentor, who can provide first-hand information and practical advice, support for writing the personal statement, and hosting representatives of various graduate schools to present their programs on campus. Degree-seeking and study abroad students are encouraged to make an appointment with the Career Services team early in their involvement with the university.
Of course, significant opportunities for employment or internships throughout the world become available from study in Italy. Three John Cabot students spent two months last summer working and studying Mandarin in China. Internships are available in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, as well as many more in Europe. The Career Fair on November 8th is an excellent chance for students to learn about the many prospects that an education at John Cabot opens to them.
