John Cabot University is truly a remarkable place. It provided me an opportunity to expand my personal horizons in so many ways. For me, that’s the essence of education. My art history classroom for example literally encompassed the entire city of Rome. From the Vatican, to the Pantheon, to the Coliseum, these are some of the most remarkable achievements of western civilization and as a student, you can’t help but be inspired by it all. I learned to look at art and architecture in a completely new way and to appreciate some of the subtle details, influences, and motives behind the amazing works of art that I saw on a daily basis.
In addition to my history classes, I was able to pursue one of my passions by studying creative writing and poetry in small class sizes with outstanding professors. As a biology major coming from a large state school, this was a remarkable change from what I was accustomed to. Being exposed to change, experiencing that which is new and different, is how we as people grow. John Cabot helped me grow by becoming more independent, more confident, and more culturally aware.
My time at JCU allowed me to meet students from all over the world and to immerse myself in a culture different from my own. It’s an experience that stands as among the most valuable of my life.
