Yet Another Victory for JCU Gladiators!

With four consecutive victories under their belt, the JCU Gladiators brought home yet another success on Wednesday, February 4th, beating the team of Cattolica University in a hard-fought game.

In spite of a promising start for the Gladiators with two strikes by Johnson and Romano missing the goal by a hair, the JCU team found a tough competitor in UCSC, whose team boasted a particularly strong offence. Despite a few slip-ups by the defense, experienced goalkeeper Verrina maintained a null-null standing. By the second half, Verrina indisputably became the ultimate hero of the game by relentlessly blocking each of UCSC’s goal attempts.

The Gladiators responded to the red jerseys’s solid offensive line with the brute strength and power of an enraged bull, and finally snatched the lead with just five minutes of remaining game time. Gladiator Adriano Landi scored the only goal of the match with a powerful kick that vigorously hit net bouncing off of an opposing defender. The victory earned the Gladiators three precious points that secured the fourth placement in the championship to the JCU team!

As the Gladiators get ready to face LUISS University on Wednesday, February 11th, Coach Concari works on finding the optimal balance and strategy for the team to confront the second strongest team in the league.

Yet in the meantime, let us celebrate another JCU victory!
